In order to reach our goal we became members of the Humber Sailing Club and sailed all summer. Our family membership allows us to use their boats whenever we like. It also allowed us to be mentored by other Humber Club members. We met loads of great people at the club. One fellow named "Kevin" worked extra hard to help us fine tune our skills and receive sign off to be able to sail the boats alone. The club also allows us to bring friends and family along. We had such a good time taking family out for a sail on Lake Ontario. We did also manage to scare the beegeesies out of my sister Chanty. The winds picked up quickly and unfortunately the boat heeled quicker than we could drop the sails :)! I hope we can get her out again some time. We have had so much fun learning to sail. |
